Re: How to Add Custom Smilies In MCHAT

I had a similar request from the forum owner who wanted different Smilies (smaller ones) only for the chat. The only way I solved it was to 'hack' the core code. In functions_posting function generate_smilies($mode, $forum_id) I edited like this :- if ($forum_id === 0) { $sql = 'SELECT COUNT(smiley_...

Re: Report Message Option

Yep the alerting of the staff to the offending message is the big problem. Having looked more into the way phpBB does the reporting I can now see why it is impossible to be able to use it. Without either phpBB adding an 'Other' to the PM & Post options for the reporting or replicating a whole lot of...

Re: Report Message Option

It would be exactly the same for the chat as it is for PMs and Posts, the content remains visible until dealt with. You only get alerted when you either refresh the page or go to a new one, it is not instant. Although it might be possible to associate it with the existing refresh in the Chat which w...

Re: Report Message Option

Not sure if this is possible or not but having a quick look at the Report code it seems that it might be possible to use some of the existing functions for alerting the Staff by creating a few new files in Mchat based on the current core ones. The files I am referring to are :- phpbb/report/controll...

Re: Quote & BBCodes Permissions Clash

OK now I understand what is happening.

Might I suggest then that instead of 'Can Quote messages' it be amended to something like 'Show Quote Icon (Function not available if BBCodes is disabled)' so that it a little clearer as to what it does.

Re: Quote & BBCodes Permissions Clash

Not sure I explained that too well.
The Quote does not appear on the right when the permissions are disabled for BBCodes and enabled for Quote.

Re: Quote & BBCodes Permissions Clash

Yes that is why it does not work but there are two separate permissions.
So I was expecting the Quote one to be able to allow just that BBCode.

Quote & BBCodes Permissions Clash

Have just discovered that if you set the permissions of a Group to allow the use of Quote and dis-allow the use of BBCodes then the Quote will not work.
Is there a workaround or fix for this ?
