Welcome to kasimi.net

Post by kasimi »

Welcome to kasimi.net!

This is a place to discuss, develop and test my extensions for your phpBB board. The focus is on my mChat add-on extensions which will not be published in the phpBB.com's Customization Database. This is why this board is the perfect place to receive support and to stay up to date on the latest developments of these extensions.

Feel free to have a look around and share your ideas. :)

Thanks for the welcome!

I hope that this forum will not only be focused on Mchat extensions, but also on mChat itself. It would be nice to bypass occasionally phpBB.com and GitHub.com and be able to discuss directly with the developer of this wonderful extension!

Also, for those of you reading this message, I encourage you to make a donation to kasimi - whether you wish to download his mChat extensions or not.

Why? mChat is totally free and kasimi spends hours on it everyday: refining it, improving it, etc. I'm sure he appreciates receiving a little money from time to time to enable him to buy a few cold beers!

I have had dealings with him for several months and I can vouch for the fact that:

1) he is very professional
2) he is a wizard at programming
3) he is very reactive
4) icing on the cake: he's a truly nice person! AND he'll reply to your queries on this board before he replies on phpBB.com!

Cheers!

I followed Darloup's PM-invitation to publish a translation here, too. I wonder why there is no "official" posting on dmzx's website about changing the support site for mChat related things, If dmzx has withdrawn from the development. Announcement via PM looks strange in my eyes.

Best wishes for your new board.

Hi Scanialady and thanks for sharing your German translation. :)

That is up to dmzx to announce and explain. All I can say is that he hasn't contributed to mChat's code in a while.

This board has its focus on my add-on extensions for mChat. There is a support section for the main mChat extension here, and it appears there's one at dmzx's board as well, however, I consider the development topic - and later the CDB once mChat is validated - at phpBB.com to be the first and most important place for asking questions and reporting issues. Users are free to seek support wherever they want of course but helping to improve mChat in the form of bug reports, feature requests, general feedback and so on is more likely to happen when directly interacting with active developers.

I take it Darloup's PM wasn't meant to be an announcement but more like a way to draw your attention to another cozy corner of the internet for all us mChat enthusiasts to hang out at. :D

Have a nice day!

Hola Scanialady,
Announcement via PM looks strange in my eyes.
Sorry if I contacted by PM-invitation to request for you to post your German translation of mChat on kasimi's board, but the truth is that I didn't wish openly "to make waves" on dmzx's board since we don't really know where he now stands with regard to the development of mChat. Right now, kasimi is the only active developer of mChat and, since he decided to start this new board, I thought it would be a good idea to regroup all the translations under his roof as well.

After all, all translators are welcome to post their translation on as many sites as they can to ensure a wide availability!

Cheers and thanks for your contribution!
