I have the same problem, no sounds on Android with Firefox, not even regular mChat add/edit/delete sounds, so this is not limited to this extension.
What browser is this happening with? I can't reproduce it in Firefox Desktop, all sounds play fine and only when they are supposed to.

Re: [1.0.1] mChat Broadcast
I am finding that sounds play fine for me...
But other chatters it is all over the place. Some hear the most recent sound over and over even if the sound was played long before the entered chat. Other users are not hearing the sounds unless they are played. Another issue is that they are all using different browsers. Some that using the same as me are hearing looping sounds. So who knows what the deal is.
I had to turn off the Broadcast ext.

Re: [1.0.1] mChat Broadcast
I found what's causing the endless replays: enabling the "Live updates of edited & deleted messages" feature should fix it. You will hear the broadcast only once when it's enabled. I will post an update when I find time to test it thoroughly.
By the way, what's strange is that after rebooting my phone, all mChat sounds started working again. The default add/edit/delete sounds as well as sounds from this add-on extension.

Version 1.0.2 should fix the replay issue. See first post for the latest download.
In addition to the bug that occurred if "Live updates of edited & deleted messages" was enabled, I improved the handling of the audio element that plays the mp3: it clears itself after the sound was played the first time, so there's no way for it to repeat itself due to unexpected browser behavior. I also updated the CSS to fix the button layout on mobile.
If you still have issues with 1.0.2, send me a PM with a link to your board and an account so that I can see live what's happening.
