Error: Not Found

#1

Post by Proximo2 » 13 May 2019, 06:23

Hi,

I've just installed the extension on PhpBB 3.2.7. Installation went fine but mChat doesn't work. If you try to send a message, a pop up says "Error. Not found".
Additionally, when browsing to the mChat page I get "No Input File Specified".

Please let me know if this is a known issue. Thank you.

Hi Proximo,

delete the production folder inside your [board root]/cache folder and see if that helps.

Hi Kasimi, it's great to hear from you. :-) I have deleted the production folder a few times during this process. I also checked the .htaccess in the forum folder and it's blank.
I'm uncertain how to proceed. Would you mind lending me a hand? I can make you a test account if needed. Thank you.

Definitely not it. It was already set to NO. I set it to YES to see what happened and then I got a 404 instead of "No Input File Specified" on the mchat page.

mod-rewrite can give the same issue too (not saying it is in this case)

Hi guys, I have solved the issue and I'm going to post about it because my host, GoDaddy, is very popular, even if it's kinda crappy.

The server ignores the Php.ini when you run Php 5.6. It requires a new file called php56.ini and in it you need to type
cgi.fix_pathinfo=1

That was it, it solved the whole problem as far as I can see. I don't know if there will be other issues but at least that one is solved!

Thanks everyone who shared their knowledge!

Simple fix then is to log into cpanel and change php5.x to php7.x

php7 is way faster then the 5
